Trivia[]
- Dean's original surname was Tanaka because he was one of the sons from his mother actress Sharon Thomas' first marriage to U.S. serviceman Roger Tanaka. Cain never met his biological father and considered him to be an unfaithful husband and father, someone he didn't want to be. When his mother remarried to director Christopher Cain, Dean and his brother Roger's surnames were changed to their new adopted surname Cain.
- Dean shares the same birthday with Guest Star Lane Davies (Tempus).
