Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Wikia

No, No, No, that's the adult way of doing things. My way is far more childish and therefore more punitive which makes it more fun.

—Harold Krisptly, to Wendy, Toy Story

Harold Kripstly is a villain in the series.

He was a embittered toy maker who kidnapped children and sought revenge on his former bosses at Dynocord.

Personality[]

Krisptly was really a child at heart who disliked and distrusted adults after so many times he had been let down by them, which is why he had a soft spot for children and cared for them dearly, vowing to never let them suffer in the same way as him.

Kripstly had a fierce temper when something annoyed him such as when Wendy brought up the subject of his unhappy childhood and when he was mocked by Dr. Klein.

History[]

It is revealed that Kripstly had a terrible childhood which began his distrust and hatred for adults. As he grew older he worked for the toy division of Dynocore and became one of it's most successful toy manufacturers with his toy called the "Hovering Morph Car" being the most popular.

However he wanted to be also seen as a legitimate scientist and had invented a machine called the re-integrator, a device that that transferred matter across space to a new location. He showed it to the heads of the company, but they only laughed at him, mocked him, called him a Quack and to go back to his toys. Krisptly was furious and eventually his attitude got him fired.

Kripstly then opened up his own toy store called "Toys A Poppin" and hired Wendy, the only adult he ever trusted to help him run it.

Eventually Kripstly was determined not to have any other children suffer like him so he constructed a play area underneath a fast food outlet and began capturing children from orphanages, bringing them there so they could have the freedom to play as much as they wanted, but also keeping them trapped behind sealed doors from the outside world. Wendy worked there too as the main caretaker to see to the children's every needs and encourage them to have fun.

Season 4[]

Some time later after capturing another child called Ryan and giving a big bundle of toys for Wendy to give to the children, he spotted a flyer that she had left for him containing information about the manufacturing of a re-integrator from S.T.A.R. Labs, the one he himself had originally designed. Dynocord had chosen S.T.A.R. Labs to oversee it's development.

Kripstly deciding to use his re-integrator to get revenge

Kripstly was even more furious and told Wendy that this was why he never trusted adults. Wendy said that he should sue Dynocord for stealing his idea, but Kripstly decided to retaliate in a much more childish way. As Dynocord stole his idea, he would use his re-integrator to steal the children of the heads of the very company who had mocked him.

Wendy protested, but Kripstly refused to listen and sent his toys equipped with deadly weaponry to raid S.T.A.R. Labs and capture their lead scientist Dr. Bernard Klein to help him make it successfully function.

Kripstly kidnapping Dr. Klein

Kripstly forcing Dr. Klein to help him by using a truth serum

After capturing Dr. Klein and tying him up in a chair, he asked him to help in his scheme. Dr. Klein was horrified and refused to be part of his terrible plan so Kripstly had his toy monkey Chico inject him with a truth serum so he could tell him all he wanted to know regardless of his feelings.

As time went on, thanks to Dr. Klein blabbing out the truth, Kripstly managed to find the components needed to create re-integrator crystals that he would place in Superman action figures and hand each one to the children.

He gave one to a girl named Brittany Turner who was the daughter of one of the heads of Dynocord named Alex Turner. The re-integrator did it's job and Brittany de-materialized, vanishing without a trace. Afterwards Krisptly soon found out that Daily Planet top reporters Lois Lane and Clark Kent were investigating the cases of the missing children and interviewing former Dynocord employees. He decided they had to die.

Suddenly Wendy who had just spent time with an upset Brittany, came storming in to his office, voicing her opposition to his plan saying that taking orphans away to be taken care of was one thing, but kidnapping Brittany, a perfectly happy child away from her parents was wrong, making Krisptly just as bad as the adults he despised so much.

She then turned in her fake plaits, telling him that she was walking out on him and going straight to the police unless he let the children go.

Wendy de-materialized

Surprised by Wendy's sudden change of heart, Krisptly told her how much he had cared about her as she was the only adult he had ever trusted. Not wanting her to leave angry with him, he gave her a pretty doll with brown hair and a blue dress (his first ever toy) as a token of his and the children's appreciation.

Wendy was reluctant to take it at first as she suspected it to be some kind of trick, but Kripstly swore that it wasn't so she took it and gave him a farewell hug.

However, Kripstly had suspected that Wendy would turn on him so he had craftily placed a re-integrator crystal into the doll. He switched on the re-integrator and Wendy de-materialized. Kripstly shouted after she had gone: "There, that'll teach you to talk back to me!"

Dr. Klein who had seen the whole thing realized that Kripstly had deliberately not set the controls on the re-integrator to re-materialize Wendy somewhere else so she was as good as dead. Krisptly felt no concern and told Dr. Klein: "That's what happens when you grow up!"

Later he went to Lois and Clark's house and placed a toy duck equipped with an explosive device next to the door and left. Unfortunately Clark who was also Superman examined the toy with his X-ray vision and quickly disposed of it This also lead the two reporters to believe that Krisptly was behind the kidnappings after piecing together that all the incidents had been associated with toys.

Kripstly meeting Lois and Clark

He was then paid a visit in his store by Lois and Clark. He was amazed that they were still alive, but covered up his panic by saying that he thought they worked for the chronicle. He expressed his sympathy towards the missing children and vowed that he had nothing to do with Brittany's kidnapping as he himself adored kids. But Lois and Clark still suspected him.

Later he managed to kidnap more children with only a boy named Joey Steele left. As he visited the play area, he noticed the kids weren't having fun and decide to order food for them to cheer them up. Dr. Klein, still under the influence of the truth serum, told him that getting rid of Wendy was a mistake and sooner or later Lois and Clark would track him down.

Kripstly was by this time getting tired of Dr. Klein blabbing out the truth and told him angrily to be quiet or else he would receive the same fate as Wendy. Dr. Klein replied that he still needed him and mocked him resulting in Kripstly getting even more angrier and threatening to kill Dr. Klein there and then. Unfortunately Ryan saw the way he was behaving and called him a bad man. Kripstly then hastily sealed the door in front of the play area.

Lois re-materializing

Kripstly shocked to find Lois appearing instead of his chosen child.

He then sent the Superman toy to Joey Steele by mail. Unfortunately Lois was there at the that very moment and took the toy away just in time before she de-materialized. Kripstly was shocked and outraged when he saw Lois re-materialize instead of Joey, commenting that adults like her always messed things up.

He picked up space blaster toy that was actually a real weapon to kill Lois once and for all. At the same time, he once again carelessly left open the main door surrounding the play area and two girls were watching, he hastily told them to go to bed.

Dr. Klein then berated him saying that killing first Wendy and then Lois would only make the kids more miserable as he was getting rid of mother figures for them. Kripstly argued that Lois wasn't a mother, but Lois said that she was still qualified as she had been the most popular babysitter in her neighbourhood.

Krisptly then sealed her in the play area with the kids for the moment while he decided to kill Clark by luring into his toy store and kill him in the same way as he had done at his house.

However once again Clark escaped after with the information of Kripstly's whereabouts sent to him via the re-integrator by Lois and Dr. Klein, Superman set off to find them.

When Kripstly returned, he immediately suspected foul play and decided to use the re-integrator on Dr. Klein, but at that moment Superman arrived, grabbed the crystal Kripstly had placed on Dr. Klein and crushed it. Kripstly then slid another crystal near the play area where Lois and the kids were standing. He threatened to de-materialize the children forever if Superman tried to stop him. Superman took it as a bluff as he could see that Kripstly didn't have it in his heart to do such a cruel thing as he had always loved and cared about kids.

Lois then urged him to let them go as they didn't want to be locked up in this place forever. Just because Kripstly didn't want to live without rules and regulations didn't mean that was what the children wanted. They needed rules and structure to make them feel secure.

Kripstly took this as exactly what an adult would say and was even more determined to turn on the re-integrator, declaring that he was going to spare them a life of being betrayed and abused by "lying, hypocritical, two-faced evil adults". Superman confirmed this as a big mistake, but Kripstly pressed the button to start the machine. Just in time Superman grabbed the crystal and placed it on the re-integrator itself. Krisptly then watched in horror as his invention disappeared forever.

Kripstly was then tied up in the same chair he had put Dr. Klein in and watched as Superman took the children home, while he was left behind for the police and arrested.
