Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Wikia

Jor-El was Superman's biological father and the husband of Lara.

History[]

Jor-El and Lara

Jor-El and his wife Lara.

Jor-El was a scientist who worked on Krypton for many years.

He had always wanted to explore the planet Earth as he found the planet fascinating and wanted to know of it's inhabitants and customs.

At some time he met and eventually married Lara and they had a son named Kal-El.

Soon Krypton began to crumble due to the infection of a virus spreading to the very core of the planet. With very little time, they salvaged what they could find to make a spaceship to send their baby boy to Earth which they considered a peaceful planet and also installed a globe that would give their son all the information he needed about his past as well as a shield resembling the House of El to let him know of his heritage.

They launched the ship into space, held each other's hands as they watched their son go and prepared themselves for the inevitable as their planet exploded into pieces.

Season 1[]

Some years later, Kal-El had grown up and was now known to the world as Clark Kent aka Superman.

He found the globe as he investigated the warehouse of Bureau 39 who had stolen the spaceship and took the globe with him. (Strange Visitor (From Another Planet))

Soon it began to play holograms of Jor-El telling his son about his past and heritage and images of himself and Lara saving their son.

Clark began to understand that Jor-El and Lara had saved his life and held them in high regard, but was still puzzled at why his biological parents couldn't save themselves. (Foundling)

Season 3[]

Jor-El later appeared with Lara as a dream in Superman's thoughts but was made to mess with Superman's mind by the villainous sorcerer Baron Sunday as a way of weakening the Man of Steel. But Superman once again understood of his origins and foiled Sunday's plans. (Never on Sunday)

Jor-El appeared once again when Clark was visited by two fellow Kryptonians Ching and Zara. Together with both the hands of Clark and Zara touching the ship, a hologram of Jor-El appeared announcing his son's heritage to marry Zara and become ruler of New Krypton, though this made Clark extremely uneasy as he had already a strong relationship with Lois Lane. (Big Girls Don't Fly)

Season 4[]

Jor-El was mentioned when Clark was put on trial by his fellow Kryptonians. He tells the court how grateful he was to him for saving his life. (Battleground Earth)
